Senior Jared Wilcox put away a team-high fourteen kills, guiding the Bearcats to their second straight win, as they took down the Lindenwood University Lions for the second time this season. Earning the victory in front of a home crowd at the Statham Sports Center, McKendree men's volleyball improved to 8-10 overall and 4-5 in Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association play.
McKendree outblocked Lindenwood 9-4 on the evening, with red-shirt senior Brendan Schmidt (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt West) picking up five total to lead his team, as well as nine kills. Junior libero Zach Thompson led the Bearcats with nine digs, and senior setter Pasquale Fiduccia recorded 40 assists.
The Lions, who fell to 9-9 overall and a 1-7 in MIVA action, were held to a .208 hitting percentage by the Bearcats, and were led on offense by Nick Stevenson and Charley Hlavin, who combined for 26 total kills in the losing effort.
The Bearcats will now go on the road, taking on the Quincy University Hawks in a conference match-up on Monday night.
