The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association has bestowed the Offensive Player of the Week to Ohio State's Maxime Hervoir and the Defensive Player of the Week to McKendree's Zach Thompson.
Hervoir carried Ohio State's offense in a pair of Top-10 wins over Loyola and Lewis. For the week, he attacked at .453 while averaging 5.29 kills per set. Hervoir helped the Buckeyes defeat then No. 6 Loyola to tie Loyola for first place in the MIVA standings, recording 24 kills at a .463 clip. He was responsible for 26.0 total points in the win over the Ramblers. He returned two days later to hit .435 with 13 kills and an ace in a sweep of Lewis.
Thompson helped McKendree to the program's first-ever win over Lewis last week. The libero recorded 13 digs in the 3-1 win over the No. 10 Flyers. He came back two days later to earn nine digs in a four-set loss to Loyola. He averaged 2.75 digs (22 total) for the week.
