Lindenwood and Fort Wayne Take Home MIVA Weekly Nods

The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association has selected Tony Price of Fort Wayne as the Offensive Player of the Week and Connor Hipelius of Lindenwood as the Defensive Player of the Week. The awards are for the week ending March 11.

Price averaged 3.09 kills with a .364 attack percentage in three matches in California last week. The Mastodons went 2-1 on the week, defeating then No. 3 UC Irvine and T-No. 14 Concordia Irvine and falling to T-No. 14 UC Santa Barbara. Price notched 13 kills and a pair of aces in the win over UC Irvine. He totaled six kills against UC Santa Barbara before 15 kills (5.00 per set) and no errors against Concordia Irvine.

Hipelius helped the Lions to a league win over Quincy and a non-conference sweep of Saint Francis. Against the Hawks he notched five solo blocks and a pair of digs as the Lions limited Quincy to a .157 attack percentage in the match. The Lions defense was even better against Saint Francis, limiting the Red Flash to a .035 hitting percentage. Hipelius recorded three blocks (one solo) and three digs in the contest.
