Lewis and Ohio State Grab MIVA Honors

The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association has named Lewis' Mitch Perinar the Offensive Player of the Week and Ohio State's Gabriel Domecus the Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 22.

Perinar hit .449 with 4.20 kills per set in the Flyers' 3-2 wins at Penn State and Saint Francis (PA). He recorded a career-best 27 kills, while hitting .478 (27-5-46), in a five-set win over St. Francis (PA) on Saturday. The 27 kills are the most by a MIVA player this year. He finished with 29.5 points against the Red Flash. He totaled 15 kills and hit .406 (15-2-32) in a five-set victory over No. 15 Penn State.

Domecus recorded 4.00 digs per set in a sweep of Saint Francis (PA) last week. His stellar defensive effort helped limit the Red Flash to a .154 hitting percentage. The Ohio State libero had a team-high 16 errorless service receptions as the Buckeyes won their 29th consecutive match.
