Fitterer, Owens Named MIVA Offensive And Defensive Player Of The Week

Eric Fitterer and Kevin Owens have been named the MIVA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week after their play during the week of January 28-February 3.

Fitterer, a sophomore right-side hitter from Lewis paced the Flyers in the second match against Grand Canyon this weekend with a career-high 21 kills to average 4.2 kills per set and tally a .486 hitting percentage. He also posted double figure kills in the Friday night match at Grand Canyon and five block assists.

Owens, a junior middle-blocker from Ball State recorded nine assisted blocks in the Quincy win tied a season-high and his 14 kills against Lindenwood was one shy of a career-high. Owens leads the Cardinals in blocking with 1.60 blocks per set on the season and is second in the team in kills with 62.
