IPFW's Shank Named MIVA Offensive Player of the Week


Columbus, OH - Mastodon outside hitter Darryl Shank has been named the MIVA Offensive Player of the Week for his play last week against Cardinal Stritch and Ohio State.

In Friday's 3-1 win over Cardinal Stritch, Shank had a match-high 34.5 points, including a season-best four-set tally of 31 kills on a hitting percentage of .571. Shank also posted six digs and six total blocks. He also handled 24 serve reception attempts without an error in the match.

In a 3-2 loss to Ohio State Saturday (Mar. 6), Shank recorded 24 kills, handled 32 of 34 serve reception attempts and added seven assist blocks with a team-high 14 digs.

Over the weekend, Shank averaged 6.9 points, 6.1 kills, 2.22 digs and .78 blocks per game while hitting .367.
