Quincy blanked by Lewis
(Romeoville, Ill.) The Quincy University men's volleyball team was shutout on the road on Friday night falling to Lewis University 3-0 by the scores of 30-25, 30-23 and 30-28.
With the score at 13-10 in game one Lewis pulled away from the Hawks with a 6-2 run and went on to open up a 27-20 lead before finishing off the Hawks for a 30-25 win. Lewis held the lead in game two as well but climbed back into the match taking a 14-13 lead after back to back errors by Lewis. The Quincy lead did not last long however as Lewis scored the next four points en route to taking the second game 30-23. The Hawks took a commanding lead in the third game at 13-6. But Lewis slowly chipped away at the Hawks lead taking the lead back at 29-28 and winning the match with back to back kills.
Quincy hit .122 as a team with 33 kills and 21 errors while committing 11 service errors. Lewis hit .275 as a team with 52 kills and 22 errors and recorded 13.5 total team blocks. Quincy was led by Chris Zeidler with nine kills while Dan Dresen finished with 28 assists and Tanner Wright added 12 digs. Quincy falls to 10-12 overall and 2-6 in the MIVA.
