Grand Canyon falls in three to No. 7 UCLA
LOS ANGELES -- Grand Canyon (14-20) lost 3-0 to No. 7 UCLA (13-9) at John Wooden Center Wednesday. The Antelopes fell by set scores of 30-17, 30-14, 30-20.
It's the first of two matches against nationally ranked teams while
visiting Los Angeles. GCU takes on USC, also ranked No. 7, Thursday
at 6 p.m.
Sophomore outside hitter Brock Hutchins (Gilbert,
Ariz./Highland/Hawai’i) had eight kills and six
digs. Freshman setter Brad Moore (Orange,
Calif./Lutheran) had 22 assists, four digs, one service
ace, one solo block and one block assists. Frosh libero
Trent Bruns (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo)
had eight digs.
Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Griffin (Tucson,
Ariz./Ironwood Ridge) had six kills and freshman outside
hitter Tyler Capko (Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde)
added five digs.
