IPFW's Dryden Named MIVA Defensive Player of the Week
Columbus, OH - IPFW junior libero Shaun Dryden has been named MIVA Defensive Player of the Week. Dryden posted a career-high 21 digs in Friday's matchup with No. 15 Lewis.
In addition to the career-tops total in digs, Dryden amassed an impressive .967 serve reception percentage (58-60) in the match. The 21 digs marks the fifth time this season the Seabrook, Texas native has logged double digits in the category.
The IPFW leader in digs at 3.29 per game, Dryden is currently ranked 8th in the nation in the latest NCAA statistical category rankings.
The MIVA Player of the Week honor is the first of Dryden's career and is the first Mastodon to garner the award in the 2010 season.
Dryden and the 'Dons will return to action Friday (Feb. 12) as they host the Grand Canyon Antelopes. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center in Fort Wayne.
