Quincy falls to #6 Carthage, 3-0
(Kenosha, Wis.) The Quincy University men's volleyball team was unable to pull off a road win over #6 ranked Carthage College on Sunday as they fell 3-0, dropping the match 30-26, 30-24 and 30-27.
Quincy put some pressure on nationally ranked Carthage at the start, hitting a match high .393 with 15 kills and four attack errors in just 28 total attempts. However the Hawks were unable to close out the set and came up short falling 30-26. The Hawks were unable to keep their attack going as they hit just .125 and .106 in the match's final two games. Quincy also committed 17 service errors in the match and finished with a hitting percentage of .179 with 44 kills and 22 errors in 123 attempts.
The Hawks were led by Peter Coley with nine kills while Joseph Sokol and Joseph Asher each added seven kills. Dan Dresen finished with a match high 41 assists while Coley added 12 digs for Quincy as well.
Quincy falls to 4-7 overall this season and returns to action on March 5th when they face Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois.
