Hawks Upset Ball State, 3-1
(Quincy, Ill.) The Quincy University men's volleyball team recorded a 3-1 upset victory over Ball State University at home on Saturday night winning 30-28, 36-34, 26-30 and 30-25.
The Hawks recorded their first MIVA conference win in over two years as they knocked off the 7-3 Cardinals. The Hawks hit .287 as a team with 69 kills and 26 attack errors. Quincy also recorded 11 total team blocks and finished with seven service aces.
The Hawks took the first two games of the match before having to knock off the Cardinals in the fourth set 30-25. Quincy hit a match high .424 in the first set and had their offense rolling all day long as they never finished with fewer than 17 kills in a set. Joseph Asher led the way with 19 kills and Peter Coley added 16 kills while Dan Dresen finished with 61 assists in the match.
Quincy improves to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the MIVA and returns to action on February 27th when they face MSOE on the road at 7 p.m. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
