GCU drops match to Univ. of Pacific
STOCKTON, Calif. -- Grand Canyon fell to 0-2 on the opening night of the men's volleyball season. After falling to UC Santa Cruz earlier in the day, GCU lost to host Pacific at Alex Spanos Center Friday.
The Antelopes lost 3-0 by set scores of 30-15, 30-20, 30-25.
GCU freshman libero Trent Bruns (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) had 12 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Brock Hutchins (Gilbert, Ariz./Highland/Hawaii) had a team-high 10 kills. Freshman Robbie Brannick (pictured, Minooka, Ill./Minooka) had eight kills.
Freshman setter Brad Moore (Orange, Calif./Lutheran) had 23 assists.
Brannick and freshman Zach Neilson (Phoenix, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor) had two block assists each.
The three teams head to UC Santa Cruz Saturday. GCU takes on the hosts at 1 p.m. and Pacific at 4 p.m.
