Lewis' Mike Iandolo Named MIVA Defensive Player Of The Week

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Senior Mike Iandolo (Orlando, Fla./Long Beach State) has been named the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Defensive Player of the Week for his play last weekend in road wins over George Mason and Juniata.
In the 3-0 (30-21, 30-21, 30-28) victory at George Mason, Iandolo collected 39 assists and added four kills, one dig and six assist blocks. He directed the Flyer offense to a .427 hitting percentage against the Patriots.
Iandolo collected 49 assists in the 3-2 (25-30, 28-30, 30-25, 30-24, 15-11) come-from-behind win at Juniata. He added two kills, one ace serve, 10 digs and seven blocks (one solo and six assists) in the match.
The Flyers held the two opponents to a combined .176 attack percentage (George Mason, .198; Juniata, .164). In the two matches, Iandolo averaged 11.00 assists, 1.62 blocks and 1.38 digs per game.
"I'm happy to see Mike honored for his play this weekend," head coach Dan Friend said. "His leadership has been crucial in several matches this season."
No. 15 Lewis (9-2, 2-1 MIVA) hosts No. 12 Loyola-Chicago on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
