Senior middle blocker Grayson Overman led the Buckeye defense this weekend at the Outrigger Invitational in Honolulu with 18 overall blocks for a 1.38 average over 13 sets played. In the team's first-ever win over host Hawai'i, Overman totaled a match-high six blocks in five sets. He followed with a team-best six blocks in the close 3-2 loss to No. 5 UCLA Friday and then finished with two solo and four block assists for a match-high six blocks in the 3-0 loss to Penn State Saturday. His three six-block performances tied a season-high and his two solo blocks were also a season-high.
Overman has started in all four matches for the Buckeyes and leads the team with 21 total blocks through four matches, averaging 1.31 blocks per set.
